WP4 Workshop in Delft

Delft - August 6-7, 2009

 

About the event

WP4 organizes an workshop on August 6th - 7th, at Delft University of Technology. The goal of the workshop is to advance the state of the art on the WiseML description language and study the possibility of integration with the various tools developed within this project. We would like to cover at least the following topics:

1.  Refine definition of WiseML - planning session/design session

2.  Extension of WiseML to include description of experiment setup

3.  Integration with Shawn – tutorial on shawn/design session

4.  Integration with TARWIS - tutorial/design session

5.  Data sets metrics (how good is a data set, how complete, etc.) - brainstorm/planning session

6.  Integration/translation of other data sets from the project to WiseML

7.  Dissemination of WiseML/data sets (website, advertising, conference paper) - brainstorm/planning session

 

Tentative agenda 

The event will start on August 6th after lunch with a session on the design of WiseML. For August 7th there will be two sessions: one in the morning about the integration of WiseML with existing tools (Shawn tutorial and integration with TARWIS) and one in the afternoon about data sets and dissemination.  

August 6th 

13.00 - 17.00 Design of WiseML 

  • presentation from TUD on the current status
  • presentation from FUB on DES-Testbed  
  • design session for the features of WiseML (point 1 on agenda)  
  • extension of WiseML to include experiment setup (point 2 on agenda)

17.00 - ...  Dinner 

August 7th 

9.00 - 12.00 Integration with other tools 

  • tutorial on Shawn (point 3 on agenda)
  • integration with Shawn
  • integration with TARWIS (point 4 on agenda)

12.00 - 13.00 Lunch

13.00 - 16.00 Dissemination of WiseML 

  • data set metrics (point 5 on agenda) 
  • translation of other data sets to WiseML (point 6 on agenda)
  • dissemination (point 7 on agenda)

 

Reaching TU Delft

The easiest way to reach Delft from abroad is to fly to Schiphol airport and then take a train. There are two direct trains per hour and the schedule repeats every hour. Train schedules information is available online at:

The university of Delft is located right outside the center of the city. It takes around 15 minutes walking or you may make use of public transportation. More information can be found here:
